Math Tutoring
Math tutoring is our biggest specialty. Our tutors work one on one to teach concepts in an enjoyable, easy-to-understand way. Ace your class and love doing it. We work with all classes, from “grade school to grad school,” with our greatest expertise being at the advanced high-school level in topics like geometry, calculus, and statistics.
Science Tutoring
Science doesn’t have to be confusing! Our science tutoring can you learn physics, chemistry, and biology in an intuitive, rigorous, and thorough way. The result? Awesome grades and less frustration. When you learn science correctly, it helps you to retain more knowledge – which, in turn, means that future classes will be that much easier.
In a class, you’re one of many. With tutoring, you’re the whole focus. We take pride in working with students to advance their own personal understanding. The results are clear:
- Less time spent on homework
- More satisfaction with learning
- Better grades at the end of the quarter
All of this is because of one simple fact: we don’t assume every student learns the same way. All our tutoring is based on the simple fact that you need to learn your way, not some standardized way that works for everyone else.
Because we are experts at tutoring the toughest subjects – like algebra, geometry, calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, and many more – we can guide you through understanding things your way, so that they make sense to you. No more late nights sweating about whether you’re studying effectively or obsessively checking Quizlet for flashcards. Our one on one tutoring is built with exactly one person in mind: you.
Can We Work On My Homework Problems?
In a word: Yes! Tutoring is meant to give you a deeper understanding of the concepts being taught in your class. Most often, this will involve going over what your class is doing now – which means we will go over your homework, to make sure you understand it.
How Many Times Per Week Should I Work With A Tutor?
For most students, one hour per class per week is sufficient. This means that if you are taking physics and geometry (a common combination), you might want to book two hours of tutoring per week. It can also make a difference what your need level is; if you’ve failed a recent test, it might be good to schedule two hours of tutoring per week for that class until you see an improvement in grades. But if you’re already doing well, and just want to make sure you stay on top of things, one hour per week can be enough to cover two classes. Give us a call at 617-966-3198 and we can discuss your needs.
How Long Are The Sessions And When Are They Offered?
All our sessions are a one-hour minimum, and most students find that one hour per week is enough to keep their grades up in their class. Scheduling is totally customized to your needs, subject to a 24-hour cancellation policy: we offer sessions in the after-school hours Monday-Friday, with typical sessions landing in the 3 pm – 8 pm time range. We also hold sessions on Sunday afternoons. Please call or text us at 617-966-3198 to inquire about setting up an appointment.
