Re-learning is real learning. Our flagship summer classes, which we call our "Bridge" classes, are not just a glimpse into the first month of school; they are an accelerated, high-level survey of the entire year's curriculum.
By introducing the "bones" of the subject - from the first theorem to the final unit - we ensure that when students encounter the material in the fall, they are seeing it for the second time. This strategic "second pass" transforms academic anxiety into intuitive mastery.
Algebra requires sustained focus in order to learn properly. Our summer Algebra class covers the basic of the topic, while avoiding too much repetition. When you learn algebra over the summer with us, we will cover the main details of this subject. Keep in mind that the point is to learn the basics of what will be coming up in your class, so we have different goals depending on whether you're taking Algebra 1 or Algebra 2. Depending on which class you intend to take, you will emerge ready to take on the following topics:
- Equations and inequalities
- Systems of linear equations
- Quadratics and factoring
- Logarithms and exponential functions
When you show up in the fall to take the class for real, you will be much more equipped to handle the fast pace of school-year material. The whole point of our summer class in algebra is that re-learning is real learning: when you are seeing something for the second time, it comes back to you much more easily. Get the drop on Algebra for next school year and learn it over the summer with us!
Our summer Geometry class covers the fundamentals of this new and unfamiliar topic. The point is to learn the basics of what will be coming up in your class, so we focus on the core logical transitions that students often find difficult: the main lift in this case will be the way in which geometry is a major departure from what math has been up until now. "Isn't math solving for x?" Well... not all the time. Welcome to real math! Depending on your upcoming course track, you will emerge from your summer Geometry class ready to take on the following topics:
-
Points, lines, planes, and angles
-
Parallel line properties and proofs
-
Congruent and similar triangles
-
Circles, area, and volume
When you show up in the fall to take the class for real, the quick pace of material won't be as much of an issue for you; most crucially, your class with us will have already acclimated you to the logical "switch" of thinking in a geometry way instead of in an exclusively algebraic way. The whole point of our summer class in geometry is that re-learning is real learning: when you are see it again in the fall, it comes back to you much more easily. Get the drop on Geometry for next school year and learn it over the summer with us!
Precalculus is the ultimate "Bridge" subject, and it requires a strong grasp of functions to master properly. Our summer Precalc course focuses on the high-level concepts that students often find overwhelming during the school year, while stripping away the busy work. Over 6-8 weeks in the summer, we dive into the core mechanics of the subject to ensure you aren't playing catch-up in September. Our goal is to introduce the complex logic of trigonometry and analysis so you can approach the material with confidence. You will emerge ready to handle the following topics:
-
Advanced functions and transformations
-
The Unit Circle and Trigonometric Identities
-
Vectors and Polar Coordinates
-
Limits and an introduction to Continuity
In the fall, you won't be seeing these concepts for the first time. The fast pace of the school year becomes much more manageable when you've already established a foundation. The philosophy of our summer Precalculus class is that exposure breeds mastery: re-learning is real learning, and so seeing these topics now means you can focus on excellence later. Get a head start on Precalc and bridge the gap with us this summer!
Calculus represents a significant shift in how students think about math, moving from static equations to the study of change. Our summer Calculus class is designed to demystify the core concepts of "The Derivative" and "The Integral" before the school year begins. Rather than getting bogged down in endless drills, we prioritize the conceptual breakthroughs that make the math click. We tailor our approach to whether you are heading into AP Calculus AB or BC, ensuring you have the specific toolkit needed for your track. By the end of the summer, you will be prepared to tackle:
-
Limits and the definition of the derivative
-
Differentiation rules and applications
-
Integration and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus
-
Sequences and Series (for BC-track students)
The pace of a high school Calculus course is notoriously relentless, leaving little room for those "aha!" moments. By seeing these topics over the summer, you allow your brain the time it needs to process the logic behind the formulas. When the fall semester arrives, you’ll find that re-learning this material makes it stick permanently. After all, say it with us - re-learning is real learning! Secure your foundation in Calculus this summer and walk into class in September ahead of the curve.
Statistics is often a brand-new way of thinking for students, shifting the focus from "solving for x" to interpreting data and uncertainty. Our summer Statistics class introduces the core logic of the subject and assists with the sometimes-intimidating notation. We focus on the big-picture concepts that form the backbone of both AP and honors-level courses, ensuring you understand the "why" behind the numbers. By front-loading the most challenging analytical tools, we make sure you hit the ground running in September. You will leave the summer ready to handle:
-
Descriptive statistics and data visualization
-
Probability rules and distributions
-
The logic of Hypothesis Testing and P-values
-
Linear regression and correlation
The biggest challenge in a school-year Statistics course is the rapid-fire introduction of new calculator functions and vocabulary, in particular the use of the TI-84 stats functions. By getting familiar with these tools now, you’ll be able to focus on the higher-level analysis when it counts. Our summer approach is built on the idea that re-learning is real learning: the first time you see the Normal distribution or the Poisson curve it's daunting, but the second time, the logic becomes intuitive. Get a jump on Statistics this summer and start your school year with a clear advantage!
Biology is often underestimated due to the sheer volume of information students are expected to memorize in a single week. Our summer Biology class cuts through the dense terminology to focus on the core mechanisms of life. We prioritize the big-picture systems that drive the curriculum, ensuring you understand how molecular processes translate into living organisms. Whether you are preparing for Honors or AP Biology, we focus on the specific themes that reappear on every exam. You will emerge from the summer ready to handle:
-
Biological macromolecules and enzyme kinetics
-
Cellular respiration and photosynthesis
-
DNA replication and protein synthesis
-
Mendelian and molecular genetics
The fast pace of the school year often forces students to memorize facts without truly understanding the underlying logic. By exploring these complex systems over the summer, you give yourself the mental space to actually learn the material. When you see these cycles and pathways for the second time in the fall, the details will click into place much faster, because... yup... re-learning is real learning!!! Get a head start on Biology this summer and transform a challenging course into your strongest subject!
Physics is a subject where conceptual "leaps" are required to move from basic math to real-world application. Our summer Physics class focuses on building the physical intuition needed to bridge that gap. We prioritize the core laws of motion and energy that form the backbone of both honors and AP classes, helping you understand the "how" and "why" before you get buried in school-year problem sets. By the end of the summer, you will have a working knowledge of the following pillars:
-
Kinematics and projectile motion
-
Newton’s Laws and frictional forces
-
Work, energy, and conservation laws
-
Momentum and impulse in collisions
The most common struggle in Physics is the transition from reading a word problem to setting up the correct equation. By introducing these scenarios over the summer, we allow you to develop problem-solving strategies without the pressure of a looming grade. When you re-learn these topics in the fall, you will really learn them, which prepares you to ace your test. After all, after your summer Bridge class, you'll already have the toolbox to succeed. Get the drop on Physics this summer and start the next school year with a clear tactical advantage!
Chemistry is often considered one of the most difficult high school subjects because it requires students to constantly translate between what they see in a lab and what is happening at a microscopic level. Our summer Chemistry class focuses on mastering the "language" of the subject - symbols, formulas, and the periodic table - so you don’t get lost in the details during the school year. We prioritize the foundational math and structural concepts that are essential for both Honors and AP levels. You will finish the summer ready to take on:
-
Atomic structure and electron configuration
-
Chemical bonding and molecular geometry
-
The math of the mole and stoichiometry
-
Gas laws and thermochemistry
The primary obstacle in Chemistry is the speed at which the course moves once the math-heavy chapters begin. By front-loading the stoichiometric calculations and bonding theories now, you give yourself the "reaction time" needed to succeed when the material gets complex. Our summer philosophy is that re-learning is real learning: when you see these reactions for the second time in the fall, you’ll spend less time confused and more time mastering the material. Get a head start on Chemistry this summer and make one of the hardest classes your most successful one!
