To give you an edge on next year’s classes, Strength in Numbers is offering students in Needham summer classes in math, science, and test prep. These comprehensive summer classes are meant to teach roughly an accelerated year’s worth of material in about 8 weeks, so when you take the class at school next year, you’ll be as prepared as possible.
Although it’s difficult to condense an entire year’s worth of material into a summer class, we use our expertise with the curriculum to select topics essential to understanding a subject. You will thoroughly learn what you need to know, without spending time on obscure topics that are more appropriate to a year-long course.
The goal of these summer classes is to build a strong “Bridge” to the next school year. When you take a class with us, you will learn much of the next year’s material ahead of time. Most students who have taken our summer classes in the past receive excellent grades when they take the class the following school year. That’s part of what makes us the most highly-rated tutoring service in Needham!
Needham MA Summer Classes
The classes take place one-on-one with an experienced tutor who will teach material, assign homework, and help with corrections. The format for most classes is 16 sessions of 90 minutes each. Scheduling can be customized, and instruction can take place in-person at our Needham office or remotely.
How will this help?
In our summer class, you are the class.
No more matching other people’s speed: you can learn at your own pace. The classes are designed for ambitious, gifted learners who want to excel and learn very quickly. There’s no way around it: learning calculus in 16 classes is tough. But you can do it! We have a long track record of success that proves it’s possible.
Is there homework?
Yes, but it is manageable.
We assign enough homework so that major concepts are adequately rehearsed, but we also understand that in order for the class to achieve its desired purpose, it must not be overbearing. This is a survey course, not a “kill and drill” class. We have never had a complaint about the length of our assignments.
What are typical results?
Most students who take our summer classes get A’s.
You won’t just get great grades when you take the class “for real” during the school year. You’ll be learning it for the second time, which is typically when gaps in knowledge really start to fill in. Our summer classes are the bridge to understanding!
What if I go on vacation during the summer?
Not to worry – summer classes can be taught remotely!
In a certain sense, remote learning one-on-one is even better than learning in person. You don’t have to worry as much about taking notes, because the notes are generated for you as we teach! When we teach, we generate written notes that are then sent to you after each class. Wham – a reliable resource for you, both during the summer and during the school year!
